Torc Robotics to help build self-driving vehicles for Chinese automaker

A Chinese electric car company has asked Blacksburg-based Torc Robotics to help develop its line of self-driving vehicles.
Bordrin Motor Corporation is a relatively new player in the electric vehicle market. The company, headquartered in Nanjing, China, was founded in 2016 and plans to unveil its first vehicle in April.
That launch will feature some autonomous features, but the company has partnered with Torc to develop future models with more sophisticated self-driving technology, according to a Wednesday news release.
“We believe one of the fastest paths to commercialization is through partnerships with vehicle manufacturers,” Torc CEO Michael Fleming said in the release.
