Junior Achievement Names Deborah Petrine to Region’s 30th Annual Business Hall of Fame; Honor Kevin Bloomfield

Junior Achievement of Southwest Virginia announces the addition of regional business leader Deborah L. Petrine, CEO/Chair of Commonwealth Care-Roanoke, into the Southwest Virginia Business Hall. This year’s program will be presented by American National Bank.

Petrine’s many business and community contributions will be recognized at the 30th annual Business Hall of Fame (BHF) event on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. on YouTube Live. She will join 61 other individuals who have been inducted in the Hall of Fame. This will be the first all-virtual event in the program’s history.

This year’s must-attend virtual business event – recognizes leaders of the free enterprise system who serve as business role models for our region’s youth – also will honor Entrepreneur of the Year, Kevin Bloomfield of Bloomfield Partners. Kevin Bloomfield is one of the board members for Valleys Innovation Council.

Guests will gather virtually for the first time ever for this annual fundraiser that celebrates the region’s business successes. “This is our opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of those who have shown commitment to our community and helped so many succeed in business and in life,” said Katherin Elam, president of Junior Achievement of Southwest Virginia. “We are proud to create a virtual experience to honor innovators and leaders who have contributed to the quality of life and growing spirit of entrepreneurism in the Roanoke and New River valleys.”

Inductees will be honored during a virtual event beginning at 5:00 p.m. The main presentation will include testimonial introductions of the inductees and acceptance remarks. This year’s honorees were selected by a committee of regional business leaders.

Proceeds benefit Junior Achievement of Southwest Virginia, which has served 525,000 students since its founding in 1957 with innovative, relevant programs delivered in schools by volunteers from the business community.
