Small businesses & entrepreneurs are encouraged to participate in our first annual business development series. Participation could result in cash money prizes and other business services awards! Jumpstart Giles will begin this winter.

A partnership between the Giles County IDA, the Towns of Giles, Giles Tourism Office, and others, Jumpstart Giles is a new program to support expanding small businesses as well as entrepreneurs with a business idea.

Participants will go through a series of workshops to hone their goals and plan, then pitch their business to a panel of judges who will divvy out prizes and accolades! Participation is free but you must register & attend all components of Jumpstart.

JUMPSTART Giles Business Challenge is a competitive process that will award over $33,000 cash, in business investment prizes for start-up and existing businesses looking to expand with additional job creation in Giles County and the towns of Pembroke, Pearisburg, Narrows, Rich Creek, and Glen Lyn.

The following will be awarded from the Giles County Industrial Development Authority (IDA) to the winners of the program once they establish eligible business reimbursements for qualified business expenses:
• 1st & 2nd Place Start-up Business
• 1st & 2nd Place Existing Business
• Highest Scored Business Plan
• Best Pitch Night Presentation

*All workshops are open and free to the public. Walk-in’s welcome any night. A representative from your team must
attend every session to be eligible for Pitch Night Prizes.
