The Business of Healthcare is an industry leadership program developed by the Small Business Development Center – Lynchburg Region and the Virginia Tech Roanoke Center. It is designed to give small medical businesses the tools they need to implement process improvements, understand money management, create a positive customer experience and collect and make sense of data. Each participant will develop and present a project using their own internal processes.


Program overview, each day is from 9 am – 2 pm:
March 18: Introduction to Lean/Process Improvements
April 15: Customer Service/Experience Engineering
May 13: Project Check Ins
May 20: Overview of Healthcare Finance
June 17: Data – what & how to collect, what it means, visualizing and utilizing data for decision-making
July 15: Project presentations

Each class meets at the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance, 300 Lucado Place in Downtown Lynchburg.

Who Should Attend?
Medical and allied health office management professionals are the ideal participants. The program is designed to make a medical practice run more efficiently and with better service to patients. The program is open to health care businesses in Virginia.
