Business Intel: Roanoke Star Tank seeks applicants
This year’s Regional Star Tank Summit will take place Jan. 16-17 and has expanded beyond just the pitch event, which has previously been held at the CoLab in the Grandin Village. Star Tank will operate like a summit, kicking off with a guest speaker and a panel of regional innovators Jan. 16 at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center. There will be a special Star Tank event for youth this year, and a mixer with a guest speaker at Big Lick Brewing Co. The signature pitch event will be Jan. 17 at the Roanoke Higher Education Center.
The event allows applicants to pitch new and existing business concepts to a panel of local investors for a chance to become business partners, earn capital and receive business advice from successful entrepreneurs and experts. At previous Star Tank events, some presenters have been offered deals on the spot.
Applicants who want to participate in the pitch event need to register at roanokestartank.com by Jan. 4. Anyone who wants to attend the event and not participate in the pitch competition can register online as well.
